Nistal named 'Outstanding Worker in Misamis Oriental'

High School Science Chair Engr. Felix Nistal was awarded "Outstanding Worker in Misamis Oriental" last May 25, 2007, at Pearlmont Hotel, this city.

Presented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council Misamis Oriental <96> Cagayan de Oro (TIPC-MOCDO) during their general assembly, the award recognizes workers who have demonstrated excellence in their work performance and behavioral performance, promotion of labor-management relations, and community involvement and leadership.

A holder of Master of Arts in Science Teaching Major in Physics, Engr. Nistal has recently received the "Order of Newton Award" from the Philippine Physics Society (PPS). He was likewise a recipient of two other awards in 2003, namely: "Outstanding Teacher Award" by the Philippine Educational Retirement Annuity Association (PERAA) and the "National Outstanding Educator Gintong Sikap Award" by the Philippine Educational and experimental Research Society (PHILEXERSO).

When asked in an interview about his teaching principle, Engr. Nistal said, "My teaching principle has always been student-centered and activity-oriented. I give my best in every task."
