Liceo de Cagayan University High School Students made a sweep in the recently concluded 2007 Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge-District Level held at West City Central School, Cagayan de Oro City on January 26, 2007.

The high school department's brilliant mathematics contenders from First Year to Fourth Year Levels won. They are the following: First Year – Kevin James F. Umali, John Kenneth E. Ching, and John Moises R. Mangubat, coached by Mrs. Cherly L. Yabo; Second Year – Rizel S. Palamine, Caryl Joyce E. Ecal, and Eddie A. Bergonia Jr., coached by Mrs. Maricor L. Lamberte; Third Year – Dimphna Rose D. Tagra, Junel S. Correa, and Bermieh Verlie O. Calam, coached by Mrs. Shirley D. Josue; Fourth Year – Mark John Panogalon, Rogelio Miguel Q. Delgado, and Hazel B. Uy, coached by Mrs. Rufe A. Felicilda.

Two of them---Umali and Tagra---qualified for Third Honors, a nationally distinguished award, for garnering a score of 35 out of 50 difficult questions.

They will all compete in the Division Oral Finals on February 26, 2007.
